Papier-Mâché Bird Workshop

NOTE: This program offered at Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center in Newburyport, MA
Join Great Marsh Artist Gail Boyajian, an internationally recognized artist, for four consecutive half-day sessions in this special Papier-Mâché workshop. The focus will be on shorebirds and sea birds.
Participants will make a life-sized (up to 10″) bird of their choice using papier-mâché made from newspaper, paper bags, or other materials that will be provided. Color and markings can be done with paint, paper or pencil. Participants will have an opportunity to share what they learn or know about the bird that they choose.
Boyajian is an artist and architect who has exhibited her papier-mâché birds regionally and her paintings internationally. Studying ecosystems and interconnected life forms, along with their various environmental challenges, informs all her projects.
This series is offered in partnership with Artists for the Great Marsh and Mass Audubon. To learn more about the Great Marsh Artists Program, visit this webpage.
