HOCKNEY REPRODUCTION
A Journey in Friendship Bonded in Art
An Exhibition at Manship Artists Residency
September 11 – October 18, 2026
Hockney Reproduction has been decades in the making. Bing McGilvray’s exhibition will feature reproduced images by David Hockney from throughout his long and storied artistic life, consisting of dozens of posters, prints, shelves of books and catalogues, fax collages, photos, newspapers, and magazines, and lots of ephemera.
Hockney Reproduction will be a personal journey, primarily illustrated with McGilvray’s extensive archives. A robust schedule of speakers, panel discussions, movies, and interactive events will be offered during the six-week run of the exhibition. It will be a show that, although small in scale, it will be vast in scope.
An illustrated catalogue will accompany the exhibition. The publication will elaborate on how each piece in the show represents a different phase in Hockney’s oeuvre and will recount McGilvray’s long friendship with the renowned artist, which continues to this day.
In advance of the exhibition, essays in the catalogue will appear serially in Cape Ann COSMOS. You can access the articles here.
